Quake II RTX Free June 6 From NVIDIA
NVIDIA showed off Quake II RTX some time back promising to make it available to everyone. Now they have made good on that promise with Quake II RTX being available from June 6 for free. This isn’t the full original Quake II however, with there only being the first three levels available.
If however you already own the game you can experience the whole game in its entirety, including multi-player deathmatch and cooperative multi-player modes, all fully path traced.
Quake II RTX is the world’s first game that is fully path-traced, a ray-tracing technique that unifies all lighting effects such as shadows, reflections, refractions and more into a single ray-tracing algorithm. The result is a stunning new look for id Software’s Quake II, one of the world’s most popular games, originally launched in 1997.
