Huawei Goes Big With The P30 and P30 Pro
Weighing in and 192 grams and measuring 73.4mm wide x 158mm high x 8.41mm deep the Huawei Mate 30 Pro certainly looks the goods, but will it keep up with the hype?
The 6.47 inch screen is a good start with the OLED panel displaying a 2340 x 1080 resolution, to put all those pixels Huawei are utilising a Kirin 980 Octa-core Processor and Dual NPUs (Neural-network Processing Unit) which will give you 2 x Cortex-A76 Based 2.6GHz+, 2 x Cortex-A76 Based 1.92GHz and 4 x Cortex-A55 1.8GHz cores.
Of course memory is always important so you’ll get 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage to keep all your data snug, all the normal stuff is there too, wifi, 4G, bluetooth but when you want to be impressed these days you look at the cameras, yes cameras, because the days are gone when you only had one. The P30 Pro uses Leica lenses and brings you four of those total on the rear 40 MP (Wide Angle Lens, f/1.6 aperture,OIS), 20 MP (Ultra Wide Angle Lens, f/2.2 aperture) and an 8 MP (Telephoto, f/3.4 aperture,OIS) along with a HUAWEI Time-of-Flight(TOF) Camera. On the front you’ll get a 32 MP, f/2.0 aperture camera so you can take as many selfies as you want.
Huawei have gone down the LG path with the sound where the screen glass is used for producing sound, it also supports Dolby Atmos (Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital+, Dolby AC-4).
When you have a phone with a lot of power and pixels then you need a big battery, the P30 Pro includes a 4200mAh battery to power you as long as possible.
