D-Link Strikes With VIPER MU-MIMO Wi-Fi Gigabit Modem Router

Published by Travis G

D-Link ANZ has launched the new VIPER 2600 High Power Wi-Fi Gigabit Modem Router. Designed for maximum performance, the new VIPER 2600 (DSL-3900) combines next generation MU-MIMO AC2600 Wi-Fi with Gigabit Ethernet and a dual-core processor for enhanced HD streaming and gaming, whilst being fully NBN / UFB ready.

Featuring a powerful dual core CPU which enables four simultaneous data streams and backed by MU-MIMO technology which enables multiple devices to get a high-bandwidth Wi-Fi signal simultaneously, for most homes these days with multiple devices it’s a welcome addition and the gamer in your house will thank you for it.

D-Link ANZ MD Graeme Reardon stated, “The VIPER 2600 has been designed to provide the ultimate HD streaming and gaming experience. To that end the VIPER 2600 uses advanced beamforming technology to track your connected devices with superior Wi-Fi speed and range, and D-Link SmartConnect technology automatically and intelligently distributes these devices across both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands for optimal Wi-Fi performance. This next generation VIPER 2600 takes a bite out of the competition with great specifications, at a great price point in the market.”

The VIPER 2600 can automatically shuffle devices off to the higher bandwidth and less utilised 5GHz wireless network range providing a better experience and higher bandwidth network, traffic prioritisation with the advanced QoS (Quality of Service) means your gaming stays the most important part of your network.

Throw in DLNA compatibility to enable streaming via whatever device you see fit, L2TP Over IPSec VPN Server Support (privacy is important), parental controls and a guest Wi-Fi network to stop those nosy visitors and it’s hard to see a down side.

If you’re still stuck on ADSL and enduring that long wait for the NBN, this is a good buy to get you going now and in the future.
